MTSU is on track to start the season in September with a few transfer editions and key players returning.
Conference USA will be playing football in the fall. Virginia Tech, Duke and UCONN were originally on the schedule but has since been removed because of the circumstances. Army has since been added as the week one game. The Blue Raiders will travel to New York, but the exact time has not been announced yet. September 5th is the date as the Black Knights will be the lone team they player this year outside of the conference.
Over the offseason they have gained two transfer running backs from other FBS schools. Martell Pettaway came from West Virginia and Amir Rasul from Florida State.
MTSU will also get Reed Blankenship back from an injury which ended his season last year. He was the anchor to this squad’s defense before he was no longer ready to play. They will be taking the field with a much different team this year in hopes to improve on last year and ride on the momentum that quarterback Asher O’Hara had last year as his first full year as the starter.
The athletic department also made the announcement that they will be having mobile tickets only this season. This confirms that they plan to have fans in the stadium this year.
They had their first scrimmage this week. The MTSU football Twitter account has a ton of great interviews from Coach Stockstill and players.
