So far the clear cut one and two is Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen. Ironically both of them once played at Alabama when Hurts went down with injury causing Tua to step up.
So far Hurts has nine touchdowns and 880 yards of offense. His Sooners are 3-0 and they play Texas Tech this week.
Alabama is on an absolute tear beating all their opponents by large margins. This may affect Tua's Heisman value as he sits out during the fourth quarter of most games they win by blow outs. Nevertheless he still has 12 touchdowns, no interceptions and over 1,000 yards through the air.
A third and fourth candidate are Joe Burrow and Jonathan Taylor.
Burrow is leading LSU with 1,122 yards and 11 touchdowns. He looked very impressive against #9 Texas. He had almost 500 yards passing as they won on the road.
Wisconsin has a potential first round pick in Taylor. He's the most impressive running back so far this year. Although they have only played two games against mediocre opponents he has shown that he is ready for the BIG 10 schedule. He's got 237 yards and three touchdowns. They play Michigan at home this week and if he can put big number up this will help his case as a Heisman hopeful.
