For the most part the end of the year awards were pretty much set in stone but the only one in question was the defensive player of the year award.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Aaron Donald
This was the one controversial decision this season that TJ Watt did not win this despite leading the league in all categories and playing one less game. Donald still played a great season but this is debatable for sure. This is his third time winning tying the record.
NFL MVP: Aaron Rodgers
It's a good thing that these awards only reflect the regular season. Rodgers secures his third award further cementing his road to the Hall of Fame.
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Justin Herbert
This one came as no surprise. He set the NFL rookie record for touchdown passes with 31.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Derrick Henry
Although the fandom of the NFL did not seem to show as much recognition to his 2,000 yard season this was inevitable.
DEFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Chase Young
He showed Washington that they made the right choice drafting him so early. With 7.5 sacks this year he shows promise as a pass rusher in the league.
