Barcelona has been adamant of keeping him, but rumors have spread that he may be on the move. Currently he cannot negotiate a new contact because of La Liga rules.
With the moves that Barcelona made last season some have speculated that he was unhappy with the management’s decisions splitting up with Luis Suarez, Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal. Although they have made deals with Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay.
The last two seasons have been very disappointing for Messi as they have not won any titles. If he does choose to leave it will shake the whole world of soccer up.
