The biggest names that are going to miss significant time are Ben Roethlisberger and Drew Brees.
Pittsburgh lost their starting quarterback Roethlisberger for the remainder of the season. He will require surgery for his elbow. This puts them in a bind after they traded away Joshua Dobbs to the Jaguars just a week ago. The rookie out of Oklahoma State, Mason Rudolph is next in line to start.
Brees had to be taken out of the game against the Rams. It is listed as a right-hand injury possibly his thumb. Teddy Bridgewater stepped in but it was not enough. He will need surgery and it is not known if he will be able to return for later in the season.
On Sunday night the Eagles faced off against the Falcons and had a lead late in the fourth quarter. If it weren’t for their five injuries, they may have held on. Dallas Goedert, Alshon Jeffery, DeSeasn Jackson, Corey Clement and Tim Jernigan were all taken out of the game. This leaves them very thin at receiver. Jeffery is battling a calf strain which isn’t much of a concern. The same goes for Jackson but not much else is known.
All of these injuries could change the landscape of the NFL if these players are not able to contribute to their teams.
