MTSU Loses to Southern Miss at Home

The Blue Raiders fall to conference opponent Southern Miss. with a score of 7-1.

Walker Powell was dominate for the Golden Eagles pitching a complete game. He had ten strike outs on the night with zero walks.


MTSU has a chance to reach .500 in conference with a win Saturday.

The only run for MTSU came on a solo homer from Brycen Thomas in the second inning. At this point in the game the score was tied at one.

Later in the game USM began to tear into Carson Lester who was the starting pitcher for the Blue Raiders. They scored five runs in the sixth. The Golden Eagles were dominate at the plate with 14 hits.

This was the opening game to their series in Murfreesboro. Today they will face off again at Reese Smith Jr. field. USM remains at the top of the Conference USA.
