Nats Take Game 1 and Gives Cole his First L Since May

The Nationals take a one game lead on the World Series defeating Gerrit Cole who was 19-0 since May.

The final was 5-4 despite Houston taking an early 2-0 lead in the first inning.

Juan Soto shined yet again this post season by going 3-4 with 3 RBIs. Ryan Zimmerman and Adam Eaton also knocked runners in.

Washington’s pitcher came up clutch. Max Scherzer threw five innings and struck out seven. He only allowed the two runs in the first.



Today at 7:07 Game 2 will begin on Fox in Houston. Stephen Strasburg faces off against Justin Verlander who has an 0-4 record in the World Series.
