NBA MVP Predictions

Writer's picture: Brennan TimberlakeBrennan Timberlake

Just a month or two ago the MVP rankings would have been completely different. LeBron James, Joel Embiid and James Harden all made compelling candidates but have missed significant time.

Almost by default Nikola Jokic is the front runner for the award. It’s not to say that he hasn’t had a brilliant season averaging 26 points, 8 assists and 10 rebounds per game but James Harden was set to lead the league in scoring yet again which would have been extremely valuable to his case as the MVP. If Jokic wins he will be the first Nugget to receive the award.

The only other player who shouldn’t be looked over in Steph Curry who has been on another historic scoring run. In his last few games, he is averaging almost 40 points a game. The catch is that he missed some time as well with his injury. This is the first time in a long while that there isn’t a for sure pick for MVP.
