The Impact of Andrew Luck Retiring

Writer's picture: Brennan TimberlakeBrennan Timberlake

The Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has surprisingly decided to retire weeks before the season.

He has battled injuries his whole career and even had to sit out the 2017 season. Rumors were circulating that he had an ankle injury that may have held him out for some time this year as well.

With Luck retiring this not only affects the Colts but maybe the landscape of the AFC or even the NFL. It directly changes the odds of who may win the AFC South this year. Since joining the league Luck has never lost to the Titans and have won the division twice since his entry to the league. They have also made the playoffs three times.

Jacoby Brissett is the next in line. He started a few games with New England and Indianapolis but it is not a guarantee that he will come in and fill the shoes of Luck.
